As an online seller, you're often so busy meeting orders that you rarely get the chance to step away and work on your business, not just in your business. Many sellers are also quite removed, working from home or in small teams, cut off from the larger business community.
PeSA Summit is a fantastic opportunity for all types of sellers - budding, growing and very experienced - to meet with others like them. It's also a rare chance to not only hear directly from big players like eBay, PayPal and Australia Post, but also meet senior people in these organisations and share your experiences.
PeSA Summit is in its fourth year in 2010. Each year we collect feedback from delegates that make the event even better.
Registration is heavily subsidised by exhibitors and sponsors, so this event is always extremely affordable, even if you have to travel from interstate.
The best way to learn why you should attend Summit is to hear directly from the feedback of past delegates.
Here's just some of the candid feedback we received from sellers last year when they were asked:
What was the best part of PeSA Summit 2009?
Being able to meet and mix with eBay people and other eBay sellers. Enhancing the motivation to grow our business.
Networking, level of organisation and attendees
Seeing it all under one roof - Ebay representatives, Pesa members and assistance, suppliers and exhibits. It allowed me to quickly filter what is important and what's not when establishing an Ebay business. - Brilliant!!
Enjoyed it all. Liked the site makeover panel section, to see what you thought of others listings. I like to know that I am doing many things right and can do others better. All round I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for next year.
Folks - I don't know where to start - we've turned over over 75,000 items in 6 years of selling on eBay and this summit made us feel like newbies again in terms of opening our eyes to the new world that has emerged in terms of social networking and seo strategies. Talking and networking was awesome as was the poker night!
I GET IT! I now realise exactly what i need to do to grow, and be more sucessful. I am re-motivated and feel focused, on the right track, and ready for more sucess! I meet alot of great people, the networking was fantastic. I have swapped numbers and shared ideas. I think i have even manged to help some people with ideas! I am sure i have made some firm friends and have already added some to my facebook friends!
Opportunity to discuss your concerns/queries from 'experts' and their open and supportive responses.
Its always good, the extra enthusiasm that i generate at Pesa keeps me going stronger for months.
As mentioned, I have attended all three events and this was the best as far as content, speakers and exhibitors. I also really loved the Cocktail Night - it provided a much better opportunity to meet new people rather than just stand around with a drink in already established social cliques. I met many more great people than I previously had.
I think the best part is John Lawson's presentation.
The Summit was excellent for my wife and I who travelled from Perth. We learned so much from every session and also a couple of the exhibitors. Changing to Exault logistics from our current Perth based logistics will save us a lot of money each year. The whole event was so professionally organised and already we are looking forward to next years event. We have a lot to do to implement the suggestions and advice that we learned - but that is all good and we are looking forward to the financial rewards of implementing what we learned, Many thanks and congrats to all involved.
John Lawson was by far the best speaker at the conference. He was confident, engaging, relevant, entertaining, concise and above all else a true visionary! Whoever booked him - Stroke of Genius
It had to be the cocktail night.. people finally let their hair down.
Guest speakers, break out sessions, quick analysis of my ebay store. Networking opportunities. Ability to speak to any of the guest speakers during the conference & knowing they were there to help everyone grow their businesses. Making friends with other ebay sellers who are like minded... probably what I loved about it was that we were all there to gain something. I didn't encounter the usual negativity against the system. Just about everyone I spoke to was positive, and that's the way I like it :)
The speakers we found to be very effective. Also the exhibitors were exactly what we needed. As first timers we were very surprised of the amount of advice and education offered at the summit. Thanks to the summit we have a new direction for our business and we found meeting other likeminded individuals that go through the same basic business model as we do very empowering. We do feel like recluses running our home based ebay business so it was good to get out and mingle with people who understand what its like to be a seller. Understanding that with the right direction, third party applications and understanding the upcoming changes we are now excited to further grow our business.
This was my first year at PeSA and to be honest had always turned my nose up thinking why should I spend money to get information already available and why should I pay for information ebay should already supply. I found the opinions of other sellers to be fantastic and also the sessions great to listen to. I met some great sellers and the ebay staff were fantastic and was well worth the money travel from Melbourne and the time away from work to attend.
I have found new direction and tools for future growth and found that everyone gets growing pains when running a business. There were to exhibitors that I think I will be using their services within 12 months.
That's too hard to answer! I think for me I didn't necessarily LEARN a whole lot as such, but instead it was more about getting the old brain ticking over with ideas. I've heard the saying "work ON your business, not IN your business" a lot of times over the years, but I think maybe this was the first time I really GOT that. And for me that was something I really needed at this point in my business.
Networking with other sellers who have the same goals & visions in mind.
I enjoyed every part of Pesa. This was my first and I arrived with high expectations, the summit delivered everything I'd hoped for and more. It has changed the way I look at my business and has given me a new lease of energy to move forward and grow. I now have the confidence and the knowledge of who I can turn to for help. I didn't know there was help available prior to PeSa, and I was struggling to keep up with Ebay and my busy life. After only 2 years in business, my business was already stagnating due to the lack of time available to do anything other than fill orders and tend to the administration and customers. That is all about to change!!! I can say that PeSa has saved my business (and that is no exaggeration!!!) The insight we all received regarding Best Match and the new changes about to take effect were invaluable also. I met some truely wonderful sellers and will be keeping in touch and looking forward to seeing them again next year. I am so pleased I went - I will never miss another PeSa. A big THANK YOU to all involved!!!
I thought the whole summit was excellent and I learnt so much, I just cant wait to get back into it and make the changes from the ideas that i received whilst at the conference. I made a couple of nice mates out of it and we are already communicating via email. John Lawson was special.
I think ebay staff coming out to talk about the recent changes is great. gave the seller some head start compared to others. Also the invited speakers from overseas are very good, gave us lots of tips and showed their passion toward their own business.
Learning other ways people do things, what has worked for them and not worked.
Having EBay/PayPal staff member’s available to answer questions and provide more understanding in a friendly dialogue. Fantastic catering The one on one sessions with a Pesa Member, great to get some advice specific to your business
No real one stand out highlight for me...just an excellent cross section of speakers, forums etc covering a great range of topics. A really professional, well planned, well thought out conference that will help build my ebay business. Its only Monday and i have started putting some of the ideas together already.
